Episode 38 - All My Girlfriends

As you may have read on plurk or ravelry, I am in Dallas with my family. My dad is still not doing well, so please continue to pray for him.

So…instead of a regular episode this week, which I am not up for, I thought it would be fun if all my girlfriends (and guy friends too) played podcaster this week! I would love to see your videos of what you are up to! Just record a short video and upload it to the Ravelry thread. Funny pics would also be greatly appreciated.

Warning! I have been crying all week so you better not make me cry or I will hunt you down!! Funny, people, funny!
Much love, your knitting girlfriend Carolyn!

Episode 31 - Prizes Interrupted

Show Notes:

News and Notes -

  • Ok - this week's episode was full of interruptions, but I have hopefully got those edited out. Also, it took me until the second try to figure out to "flip" the camera so that the writing was correct when I showed a label on screen! Oops! Next week will be better. At least I think this week's audio and video are in sync! Please let me know if they are not. Also, I am not sure what that funny background noise is. Sorry!

Cat's in the Cradle

Well, I have finally done it! I wrote up the pattern for the Cat's in the Cradle hat that I create last year. I knit up this adorable little hat out of really soft mystery wool that I had left over from some project or another. I knit another sample as I was writing up the pattern, to check for errors. I hope that I caught them all, but as I did not send it out to test knitters, there may be some. Since it wasn't test knit, and it is one of my first patterns, I have published it on Ravelry as a free pattern. I hope all who knit this little gem enjoy it as much as I do. And please email me any errors that you find, and I will post the errata ASAP.

And here is some insider information - the gorgeous model is my niece, Elle. She is my brother's little girl, and I just want to eat her up she is so sweet! And I must say she is quite a talented hat model, too! Of course, she has grown considerably since she modeled for my hat.
Still just as beautiful as ever, but a total handful now that she is mobile!

Well, I have another pattern in the works that I hope to send to test knitters this week, so I better go get busy!

-Your knitting (designer) girlfriend!

Technical Success!

As many of you have noticed, the audio has been out of sync on many of the past episodes. Thank you so much to Dragontamerbrat for bringing this to my attention. I think I have discovered a work around that is allowing me to go back and re-sync the audio without too much trouble. I have corrected the audio problem for Episodes 27 - 30, and will continue backtracking, fixing episodes that are out of sync until they are all fixed.

If you got frustrated watching the out of sync versions, try these new and improved versions!!

Note: Episodes 1-10, 12-14, 16, 19-21 were all fine because I used my older computer or recorded the raw footage on my Flip camera. The other episodes will be re-synced and uploaded. I will update this post when all the episodes have been fixed.

Thank you all so much for hanging out with me and my knitting (and technical problem) adventures!

-Your (learning how to sync audio) Knitting Girlfriend.

UPDATE 2/20/2014:

While updating the podcast feed based on Blip's decision to no longer host the iTunes feed, I finally got around to fixing the audio issues on the back episodes. However, Blip would not let me upload the new media files, as it has in the past (or maybe there was a glitch, I didn't get an error message, it just would never start the upload process.) So, I have hopefully correctly linked them to the YouTube feed, and I hope iTunes now picks them up. If not, here is the YouTube channel.
