The Journey Begins

Show Notes:

Finished Objects -
  • Starving Froggy, the Starving Artist hat pattern by Laura Linneman, knit out of Kraemar Eleanor yarn hand-dyed by Amy, using size 11 bamboo dpns.
  • Grandma's Favorite Dishcloth, I knit several out of various kinds of cotton I had in the stash. Some were of the unknown variety.
Works in Progress -
  • Coal Straun, the Straun hat pattern by Ysolda Teague, knit out of Wool of the Andes in the Coal colorway, magic looped using size 5 Knit Picks circulars.
  • Slanted Vineyard socks, the Slant pattern by Hunter Hammersen, knit in CloudLover Yarn in the Haunted Vineyard colorway, for the KnitGirllls SAL/KAL, that ends in February.
  • Hermione's Quidditch socks, Hermione's Everyday sock pattern by Erica Lueder, in the Kraemer Jeannie yarn that I hand-dyed at my local LYS.
  • Wisteria Shawl Collar Pullover, pattern by Lion Brand yarn, knit out of an unknown yarn in a rainbowish colorway, using size 8 circular needles. (Sorry, Lion Brand, I did not use the recommended yarn. I might use Lion Brand Amazing for a future version of this sweater.)
Fitness -
I am going to begin a journey to fitness. It will include learning how to eat better, and regular exercise through the Biggest Loser contest at the school where I teach. As well as yoga with some friends. I will keep you updated on my weekly progress in some shape or form. Not sure about the details yet, but they are forthcoming.

  4. Very cool! I love it! I've been thinking of doing one myself (about various topics that get me worked up!), but it might be best if I keep my opinions to myself! LOL Anyway--I'm so glad you are video blogging. You did a great job!

Fitness got 2 mins. LOL. Maybe you should devise a part of your blog to track fitness. Instead of pounds lost you can state % towards your goal or whatever. You can also have a calander and show how many mins you did each activity.

  8. Hi Carolyn, :o)
I found you via Diane and her "Knitabulls" podcast, and I'm so glad she steered me in your direction. I can tell already you're going to be good at this ~ you have the perfect face, voice, and personality for TV.
As for fitness, I enjoy exercise and have been working out for over 25 years (Crap, that makes me sound old!). However, I like all the food we aren't supposed to eat...ha...and this year I plan to wean myself off of most of it and introduce better nutrition into my life. I'll be happy to keep you company on your journey.
Looking forward to your next video cast. Have a wonderful weekend.
